Important Notice: Beware of Scam Emails Impersonating ICOMS 2025 & IAOMS

It has come to our attention that multiple unauthorized individuals are impersonating the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (IAOMS), IAOMS leadership, and the ICOMS 2025 conference to solicit payments for flights, hotel reservations, and visa assistance.

Please read this important information to protect yourself from potential fraud.

Please be aware:

  • IAOMS, our leaders,  and ICOMS 2025 will never request payment for flights, hotel bookings, or visa processing directly via email.

  • Official communications about ICOMS 2025 will only come from emails ending in @iaoms.org or @thetriump.com.

  • Any communication offering "special discounts," that ask for copies of passports, or request payment via personal bank transfer is fraudulent.

What to do if you receive a suspicious email:

  • Do not respond, click on any links, or provide any personal information.

  • Forward the suspicious message to info@iaoms.org for investigation.

  • Delete the message from your inbox.

How can I tell if an email is a scam?

Scam emails often:

  • Come from unofficial email addresses (e.g., not ending in @iaoms.org or @thetriumph.com).

  • Request help or support from a known individual (who you would generally be willing to help), with few details in the initial request.

  • Ask for payment via wire transfer or personal bank account.

  • Offer special discounts on flights, hotels, or visas.

  • Request personal documents, such as passport copies.

  • Contain unusual language, grammar errors, or urgent payment requests.

  • If you are unsure, forward the email to reportscams@iaoms.org for verification.

What should I do if I received a suspicious email?

  • Do not click on any links or download any attachments.

  • Do not reply to the sender.

  • Forward the message to info@iaoms.org.

  • Delete the email once you have reported it.

What is IAOMS doing to protect registrants?

IAOMS is:

  • Actively monitoring and investigating scam reports.

  • Reporting fraudulent email accounts to appropriate authorities.

  • Sharing guidance and updates with registrants and members.

How will I know if an email about ICOMS 2025 is legitimate?

  • Legitimate emails will always come from an official IAOMS email address (@iaoms.org or @thetriumph.com).

  • Payment for conference registration is processed only through the official ICOMS 2025 registration system.

  • IAOMS will never request payment for travel, lodging, or visas directly via email.
